Skylar Diggins-Smith is pregnant, and we couldn’t be more excited. On her Instagram account, she posted a picture of a sonogram with the heading, “Can’t wait to meet you!”,
There are many facets to take into consideration when it comes to her pregnancy. First of all, she is a very talented player and deserves to have a family of her own and when she wants. When you’re in the league, relationships can become difficult. Especially since so many players have to play overseas or some time.
However, for the Dallas Wings, this could put a damper on their 2019 plans. Skylar plays a significant role when it comes to the Dallas team. She is the steam for them when it comes to playing offensive. She was able to finish her 2018 career with the best turnover percentage of any season.
Skylar Diggins-Smith Preparing For New Baby
People are projection Sophie Cunningham to go to Dallas. However, with Skylar gone, she will have to prove herself worthy. Her pregnancy means that Gregg Bibb’s offseason changes dramatically. The president of the Wings will have to make a decision on if 2019 will be their year, especially since they are seeking a new coach. The reason it’s a big deal to bring someone on to the Dallas team is that whoever becomes to the coach will not get to coach for Diggins until the 2020 season.
With all of this in mind, we have to remember that we are talking about Skylar Diggins-Smith. So let’s not count her return to the court out yet. She may even try to play well into her third trimester. Maybe she will score 33 points during the playoff and then go and deliver her baby.
Either way, there are two things we can count on: Skyler is having her first baby, and this is an exciting time in her life. Also, though she may not play during the 2019 season, it may be of high concern for the wings.
