On Wednesday, at the Annual Women in Entertainment breakfast in Hollywood the biggest applause was for someone not famous. The praise did not go towards to any of the big name celebrities such a Jennifer Lawrence or Angelina Jolie. However, a young, ambitious college freshman named Carla Arellano.
Carla Arellano attends the Loyola Marymount University for the last few years and is a straight-A student. The student has rewarded a standing ovation and brought tears upon some of the biggest names in the entertainment business. The young college student gave a speech that left everyone in tears at the event. At the same time she accepted a full-ride scholarship from the Wonder Woman award star given by Gal Gadot.
The Women In Entertainment Breakfast Awards Scholarship
Carla Arellano in her speech said all she can think about during her time to speak is all the papers she has to hand in before her finals were due. She teared up and laughed at the same time. 2017 marks the 26th annual Women in Entertainment breakfast and they celebrated the trade publications of yearly power which is ranking one hundred of women in the entertainment business. Another part of the annual Women in Entertainment breakfast presents one million into college scholarships for young girls and women from the underrepresented areas around the Los Angeles communities.
One of the scholarships given out was for Carla Arellano. She says she was so happy to receive the gift from the yearly Women in Entertainment breakfast event. Gal Gadot expressed the young college student is an aspiring screenwriter. Thankfully the Warner Bros-funded the young college student $250,000 scholarship. If she was not awarded the scholarship she would have had to drop out of college. Carla Arellano shared her life story of her parents coming from Mexico. Also, how lucky she is to receive this scholarship to better her family and herself.
