The Royals Continue To Add New Players

The Royals are looking to head to the play off’s one good time using their main players. So far, the team has gained outfielder for the Chicago White Sox, Melky Cabrera to their team. They were able to obtain him by exchanging two of their pitchers.

Cabrera, 32 has a slash line of .295/.334/.436, and has had 13 home runs and has been up to bat 428 times during the season. This is the last year of his contract, making him a free-agent before the end of 2017.

The Royals need a player like Cabrera on their team. As of now, the is 22nd in the major leagues. Cabrera usually plays left field and could possibly cut Alex Gordon’s time on the field short. The Kansas City team still owe Gordon $40 million, so he still might get play time.

The White Sox also gained pitchers Andre Davis and A.J. Puckett. Currently, Puckey has an ERA of 4.40. The 22-year-old right hander is the No. 5 prospect for the Royals.

Kansas City Royals Add Cabrera To The Team

23-year-old Davis has an ERA of 4.83. This left has been able to strike out 87 batters in 85 innings. However, Davis was not among the top 30 prospects for the team at the beginning of the season. Currently, neither Davis or Puckett are in the top-100 prospect list.

After a murky beginning, the Royals have come pretty far. They have been on an eight-game winning streak. Currently, the team is looking to become the second wild card spot. Be that as it may, there are a few players on the team that will be free agents within the next couple of months. While the team still has Eric Hosmer, Lorenzo Cain, and Mike Moustakas, they are stilling looking to make one more grab.

As of now, Cabrera is the team’s greatest addition. He is not the only pick during the deadline. Kansas City has done a six-player swap with members of the San Diego Padres which has given them three new pitchers.
