Amazon seems always to be on the hunt for new Prime members. Well with Amazon Prime Day coming up, the company is really upping the ante.
On Thursday it was announced by the mega-online shopping center that this year’s event would begin July 10 and end July 13. New, amazing deals will given out every five minutes.
Those not who aren’t Prime members still have time to sign up before the big event takes place.
The very first Prime day was held in 2015. It celebrated the 20th birthday of the company. According to Amazon, that day brought the newest Prime subscribers ever in the history of the enterprise.
During 2015 Prime Day, they were able to break all prior Black Friday records. They sold 24.4 million items, equalling out to 398 items sold per second.
Amazon Prime Day Begins July 10
When they began doing Prime Day, they didn’t know if this event would happen annual or one time.
All things considered, it only cost $10.99 a month or $99 yearly to become a Prime Member. There are plenty of perks that come with membership. Some include free two-day shipping and access to movies and tv shows. The company considers them to be their most valuable customers. However, on average, they spend $1,200 per year. Non-members pay close to $500 per year.
John Blackledge, an analyst with Cowen and Co, has run numbers, and believe there are over 80 million Prime members across the globe.
The company only admits to having tens of millions of Prime members worldwide.
The owner of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, has come up the another way to bring in more sales during Prime Day. There will be exclusive deals for Prime member who utilize Amazon devices. Like last years Prime Day, those who have Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, Amazon Tap, Fire TV or Fire tablet will receive exclusive offers on available to them.
