Barcelona soccer star Lionel Messi appeal was rejected by Spain’s Supreme Court on May 24, 2017. Lionel Messi was taken by a Catalan top court for almost a two-year prison sentence for tax fraud proved the court documents. Although he is still on trial for fraud, it’s looking as though he may not go to prison. Lionel Messi is a five-time worldwide soccer player.

Jorge Messi, the father of Lionel Messi, was also guilty of tax fraud. His charges include three counts of tax fraud. Both father and son stole around 4.1 million euros and received fines for 2 millions euros later that same here.

As for Lionel Messi’s dad, his sentence has been reduced to 15 months instead of 21 months thanks to the courts. Both son and father neither have had to serve anytime yet in prison nor are expected to serve. The law in Spain states that sentences that are under twenty-four months can be severed on probation with close detection.
